So can someone please tell me what my options are after aer Lingus changed times on return flight.

They changed it from around noon to 8:30 in the morning.
I won't make it so I either get a different flight or I may have to cancel trip completely.
If I cancel completely will they refund me?
If I still go will they give my a different flight home instead?

If flight time change is over 2 hours you can cancel your flight and apply for a refund, Aer Lingus should be emailing details with a link to how you can apply for refund

    Thanks lads.
Email just said contact help desk if itinerary is inconvenienced which I have now.

So my options are full refund on over and back flights or come home the day before.
It was a 2 day trip so a bit of a bummer having to cut it short by half.
It's Aintree in April and would have to get to Birmingham for flight at 8:30 in the morning.

She said leave it until Jan 6th if changing as any possible further updates to their schedule will have happened by then.

Is there a specific reason to come back from Birmingham? Is there a flight from Manchester that would suit you?

Are you staying in Birmingham? There's a mainline railway station beside the airport called Birmingham International and there's a free monorail connection to the airport passenger terminal. Check the train times, you may be able to do it from Liverpool or wherever you're staying. Very easy to check the UK train schedule, install an app called 'National Rail', you'll recognise the old BR logo.

Cost I would imagine. Flights from Liverpool & Manchester would be very expensive after the grand national.

    No unfortunately.
That usually is my back up when I can't get suitable flights from Liverpool.
Only went Birmingham as I didn't have a choice.
I would have have paid extra to fly Liverpool but there was no time suitable.

    Staying in Liverpool.

    Staying in Liverpool.

You'd have a problem on a Sunday, the first train to Birmingham International (BHI) from Liverpool on a Sunday is at 08:18 from Lime St., arrive BHI at 10:13.

You'd need to book a mincab.

Edit: Are you coming back on Sunday April 5th - the day after the 2020 Grand National? Because Aer Lingus are currently showing flights from BHX to DUB on that date at 08:10 (EI263), 12:20 (EI3265) and 15:10 (EI273).The 12:20 (EI3265) flight is flagged as operated by Stobart Air.

Ok, I think you'll have to cut the visit short or consider going via rail and ferry. I mentioned a minicab above, I must have been thinking Manchester because Birmingham airport is too far from Liverpool - 105 miles according to Google Maps.

There is no train option. Even if you were staying in Birmingham, the first train on a Sunday is from New St. at 8:30 which is too late for you.

Yeah as it stands I either come home Saturday at around midday or hope they add a fligt on Sunday.
Why would they change a fight that was due to fly out midday on Sunday to 8.30 in the he morning?
Makes a balls of my weekend away anyway.

It looks like a unilateral change to the 2020 summer schedule. If you look to book a flight on that route (BHX-ORK) on any Sunday beginning March 29th (when the clocks will go forward), there is no midday flight.

Getting your flight time changed can happen when they haven't sold enough seats on two consecutive flights to a destination so they amalgamate the flights, happened me last Feb. on a flight to Lanzarote. But it's also a risk you take when you book a flight on an as yet unpublished schedule.

There are a number of options for Liverpool - Cork on 5 April.

Ryanair from Liverpool at 08.05 €121

Aer Lingus from Mancheter at 09.00 €75 This would require getting National Express coach from Liverpool at 06.20

Ryanair from Luton at 14.25 €31 Train at 08.18, 08.38 or 09.38 to Milton Keynes and coach to Luton airport, bus is £6.80, Train fare possibly from £10, booking window is not open yet.

Ryanair from Stansted at 16.50 for €46, Long journey to get to Stansted, a number of routes but at least a 4 hour journey. Via London including tube journey quickest, leaving Liverpool at 09.38 cost around £50

Aer Lingus from Heathrow at 18.10 €96, pick of late morning/afternoon trains from Liverpool plus tube/tube or tube/train to Heathrow.

The long journey ones won't work.
I rather stay in Liverpool an extra night than that but can't.
The 8.05 one from Liverpool would be doable for me but not my travel companion.
We'd be getting back to apartment around 3am and would have to get up around 6am.
As I said, doable for me but knowing my travel companion and been in similar situations before, it wouldn't be worth the trouble.
Originally we would have been getting up at around 9-9:30ish and trust me that would just about be manageable. :pac:

no, its cork you need to get to, not necessary fly to.

If you just fly Man-Dub on April 5th theres a flight at 8am with Ryanair for €31 and then just sit on the aircoach for a few hours and you'll be in cork for dinner time.

All these people giving train timetables etc. seem to have completely missed the point that the OP is going on the tear for the weekend and that rising at the crack of dawn isn't on the agenda.

Says Johnny come lately. If we 'missed the point' it might have something to do with the fact that the OP only set out the difficulties with an early flight (his traveling companion) in post #15.

While I appreciate the help lads, this was my original post.

Yeah early flight is not on.
    Not down to me.
Yeah 2 day bender was the plan.
If the getting home on Sunday is a problem,we'll come home on Saturday and drink the shīt out of it here.
I only drink 3 or 4 times a year but when I do I make up for it!! :D

    Thanks for the input,it's appreciated!
