201 auto diesel, Kadjar or Sportage

    Hi,

Trading for a new 201 from an existing 162 Renault Kadjar.

I would do 30,000km per year, long daily commute.

Trying to decide between an automatic diesel Sportage K3 or an automatic diesel Kadjar Iconic.

Any thoughts on which might be better for my needs?

    thanks!

Have you looked at anything else? Both the Kadjar and Sportage around a few years now. A 201 Kadjar is not much different to what you have now and the Sportage is showing it's age too.

Have you looked at the Peugeot 3008? VAG are doing some good deals on the likes of the VW Tiguan and Seat Ateca, both are available with DSG.

    I don’t think I’d change from a Kadjar to a Sportage.
As above I’d probably look at other cars in that class.
Not sure I’d go with a Seat, as their heavy discounting for straight deals kills residuals on fresh trade ins.

30,000km and long daily commute suggest comfort would be a priority.

The Kadjar is highly rated for comfort, how have you found it? If it is working for you maybe stay with it?

The Sportage is not as spacious as the Kadjar and I think they only come as a mild hyprid now at least they do in the UK so I assume its the same here.
The Hyundai Tucson is quite nice now with the recent revamp and new dash it got.

If you really want comfort the new Citroen C5-Aircross is worth a look and a test drive

The new Mazda CX-30 is nice too.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I have been very happy with the Kadjar, it has given no trouble in the 3 years I have had it.

When comparing the two, I am not sure that the Sportage would be as economical as the Kadjar which has been very economical.

Outside of these 2, I haven't looked at anything else.

Thanks for the Comments and suggestions!

How long are you going to keep it ? Warranty on the Sportage would be better.

I would go Kadjar again. It got a minor facelift during the year and will likely be changing to a new model around the time you would be thinking of changing again (if you keep to your 3/4 year cycle). In addition you will get more for your current Renault if you are switching to another one.
