They can't manage to get light rail to the national airport and this idea is for heavy rail to Shannon, hmm

Annual passenger numbers of only 1.8m. No capacity issues on existing public transport. This state has never built a new railway so if and when it does it will be on a high demand route. The existing rail network requires billions in investment just to bring it up to 1960s standards.

It was 'gravy' by a developer who wanted to get planning permission for a celtic tiger development in his field in the middle of Clare.

    Serious.
