    Hi,

I have an 08 Avensis Diesel sat in my drive since the start of the week. The clutch went on Monday and I'm not going to repair it.

Any advice on the best bet to get it taken away? I doubt it will have any scrap value - just don't want to leave it become part of the furniture in the drive!!

There's always a buyer if the price is right.

It’s still worth a bit by virtue of the cheap tax. I’d say you’d still get €200-250 for it.

Throw it up on adverts.ie and donedeal.ie and see what someone is willing to pay.
Have a few snaps and an honest description.
Someone may buy it for the parts or to do it up themselves.
Add if there is still tax on it.

If you are in Dublin you could always donate it to the Fire Brigade. They will take it off your hands and will give you a certificate confirming it is off the road.

They use it for training for car wrecks so it would be going to a great cause.

If it has nct someone will definitely buy it.

Will be inundated by certain people telling him its worth 50 quid while they look to sell the cat on it.

A few people messaging or ringing you isn't the end of the world though.

Certainly more preferable than scrapping a car that's actually still saleable.

If you cant face the grief that comes with Adverts and Done Deal then DFB is the way to go.
