Focus facelift?

Just wondering if anyone can enlighten me about the Ford Focus facelift around 2014/2015 ?. I'm seriously thinking of a 1.0 ecoboost. Not ready for full electric yet - and hybrids a little expensive for me at the moment. Mostly city driving - thus a small petrol engine !!.
The only difference I notice is the central dash - but assume there's more I don't know about.
    Thanks, K

They changed the lights and bumpers too.
The 2012 Focus radio was a bit of a buttonfest, so they tidied that up with the facelift in 2014. They also made the handbrake a bit easier to use.

Possible alternative - Astra ??. Sorry for reactivating this - but close to pulling the trigger. I'm set on a small engine petrol - Focus/Golf size. Hybrid would suit - but don't want an Auris when it's replacement (Corolla) already for sale !. Was checking out the 1.4 Astra - and reasonable deals for 2016 models. Reviews on these newer units seem positive. Size suits and seem well equipped. Any strong views out there ??.

    Thanks, K

Have a look at the Kia Ceed.

Been after a focus for the last couple of months myself, in titanium spec. Have recently started looking at the Astra and Seat Leon FR, some really nice Astra's in the slightly higher spec models.

...and most of the Focus for sale seem to be UK imports. Perhaps this is a good thing - I'm not sure. Other than MPH on the speedo.

I kinda associate Kia Cee'd & i30 as primarily diesel...although there are 1.4 petrol versions of both. Not sure is there's enough of them to get an informed opinion.

I think I'm ideal hybrid material really...but see small petrol as a first step.

I have a UK import 151 Focus 1l ecoboost with 125bhp for the last 18 months. Its a Zetec S model so 18" wheels and factory bodykit. Getting 7l/100km in mixed driving, lovely car to drive and a nice bit of power. Strongly recommend one.

Jesus, 7l/100km isn't great from a 1.0 Focus. I can nearly get that from a 3.0 litre diesel 5 Series.

Ford didn’t even offer a petrol Focus here for a long time.
The 1.4 engines in the Ceed and i30 are top notch, they’re not turbocharged, they have a timing chain, and are a very robust engine.

There’s then the choice of turbo petrols like what the Ceed linked has, or like the ecoboost on a Focus. These are inherently more complicated and less more likely to have issues than your traditional normally aspirated engines.

The Ceed has a 7 year warranty from new which transfers to new owners. That’s a huge plus point.

The "ecoboost" models are heavy on fuel.
The new 1.5 L 120 b.h.p. diesel model is the one to go for.

Of all the modern petrol engines I've driven the 1 2tsi engine from vag and the 0.9tce engine from Renault were genuinely decent economy the Ford EcoBoost engine is not and the Hyundai kia 1.4 although very good is not great on economy the Toyota 1.33 is decent as well
