Passat b6 crash sensor code?

    hi, airbag light is coming on, showing up as crash sensor side airbad driver sie(g179) on vagcom. i assume its the one on the back of the window regulator housing in the door? ive tried another sensor in it and cant clear the code? anyone any ideas? can it be removed with the vagcom?
