No cold water in upstairs bathroom

We were given notice that the water supply to our area would be turned off all day Wednesday.

It is back on but the cold water outlets are not working in the upstairs bathroom: sink cold tap, toilet and shower.

The kitchen cold tap is fine, as are the hot taps upstairs and down. It may be an airlock.

    I tried the guide here

https://www.water.ie/water-supply/supply-issues/airlocks/ OPTION 2: Combined/mixer tap in the kitchen

This should push any airlocks through the hot water pipes and into the tank upstairs but I tried it 3 times without success.

The next recommended step is to call the plumber. Any ideas what might fix it before we call one?

Examine your attic tank to see if theres water in it. And also if there is water is the outlet to the 1st floor blocked with crud

The cold tap in the kitchen is fed direct from the main. All of the other cold taps and the hot taps are fed from the tank in the attic.

Is it possible that someone turned off the cold feed from the attic? Look in your hot press, there should be two pipes coming down from the attic with taps on them, check that they are both turned on. The 'hot' pipe (cold water feed to the immersion tank) will be lined up with the immersion tank, it feeds into the bottom of the immersion at the rear, the cold feed will be off centre. Just to note..... both pipes will be cold, even though one is 'hot' and the other is 'cold'.
