Why is there so many charities in Ireland duplicating work?

Why not have One for each sector of society? 1 x Homeless, 1 x Food, 1 x Clothing, 1 x Disability, 1x Children, 1 x Animal Welfare etc? It would make it easier for resourcing, offering grants and also easier for donators to choose where they would like to give money too.

It would make it easier for resourcing, offering grants and also easier for donators to choose where they would like to give money too.
