I was heading off to walk the dog recently when Mrs Mellie remarked that I looked like I was homeless, despite having a home (in fairness my tracksuit bottoms were rather soiled).

How do you dress for the dog?

You'd have to be wearing a matching dog collar, can't be making Fido look silly wearing one.

I bring him out after work so I'm usually well dressed.
Too well dressed for walking a Jack Russell.

If the dog refuses to go out with you, then maybe you should consider your attire.
Mrs cml on the other hand has been told she's the most stylish dogwalker on the bypass.

I won't leave the house without suiting up the dog.
Me personally I tend to walk the dog in the nip.
I find the breeze on the nether regions rather spiritual.

I dress for the cat, so cannot advise. Dressing for the cat involves covering as much bare flesh as possible.

You’ve got the right idea, R. I throw on a pair of old jeans and wellies when I’m taking the dog out.

Another bonus of looking a bit “shabby” is that other dog walkers are less inclined to get “pally” with you.

A perfectly tailored suit, classic fit. Although the actual dogs perambulatory function is accomplished by my Mann Sunday.

Do you not just pay someone to walk the damn dog for you?

Like a hobo to be honest.
Trackies and heavy jacket and trainers.
Who cares it's not a fashion show.
