    Hi

I've been keeping an eye on this bike https://www.giant-bicycles.com/ie/fastroad-sl-0 and Im about to buy it as it is the 2019 model and looks good value now.

But then I came across the 2020 model, just wondering what people think about these 2 bikes and how do they compare

    https://www.giant-bicycles.com/ie/fastroad-sl-1-2020

note in 2020 they dont have the SL0 model

I use the bike mainly for commuting and do about 20km round trip 5 days a week

any comments appreciated and thanks in advance

    Hi zubinator
I replaced my commuting road bike with something very similar from cube a few months ago (10k each way)

I have no regrets. I feel much less vulnerable now when the roads are slippy and it is almost as fast as the road bike was (according to Garmin - although it doesn't feel like you are moving as fast due to the higher saddle position) Disk brakes make a big difference too.

Is the 2020 model cheaper, but not much different in the specs?

I prefer a flat bar bike for commuting myself.

yes, I was very surprised by that, Im trying to find something in the 2019 that makes it worth the extra money compared to the new model

Chainset and seat post are more expensive on the 2019.

Thanks everyone, went for the 2019 model in the end since the shop matched the 2020 price

Got it today and I am delighted with it
