Hi I’m just looking for some info.
I currently have a 2014 1.6 diesel Kia ceed sports wagon I have this car from new and never had any problems with it I’ve done 100k miles in this car but now I drive 100 km 2 to 3 times a week And then just to school 6km per week, I’m looking at a 1.0 litre turbo petrol which I’m getting from my local dealer for €24000 to go diesel is 4.k more my question here is if anyone has any experience with this engine how do you find it

That car would be roughly €28500 new. It’s a pre-reg, so on the face of if you’re saving €4K

You are buying a 19 reg car at the end of a decade though, and the reg change from 19 to 20 is a major thing, as was 00vs99 and 10vs09.

I would also question whether the ProCeed isn’t the one to go for and not the Ceed wagon.

Given that you seem to be doing 20k miles a year, I’d seriously consider something diesel.

The options on the Kia site for the Ceed wagon are a 1.4 petrol with a 7 speed DCT box for €28500 ish on the road, and the diesel for €400 more.

I’d spend the €4K and get a 201 reg, as well as the €500 voucher and 0% finance.

Edit, they don’t do a diesel ProCeed

The dealer ain't doing you much favor on the price of the 2019 Ceed SW anyway.

Here is the better looking Proceed which is higher spec and has the 1.4 turbo petrol engine which has more grunt than the 1.0 litre, for not much more:

Thanks for the reply colm_mcm I used to do a lot of mileage but not anymore you see that is why the mileage is high on my own ceed I’d still do 300 km a week tho,the 1.0 litre engine I’m wondering after a few years how it will hold up I drove the car an found it pretty nippy but Im not a fan of speed just below the speed limit I stick I like the estates just for the practicality with the kids etc serious boot in these. I think I’ll hang on for 201 tho as you said

I might be wrong, but the configurator doesn’t give the 1.0 as an option, so maybe it’s being dropped for the 1.which should be a much smoother engine. The 1.0 3 cylinder sounds brilliant as it’s rorty and raspy, but ultimately a 4 cylinder is smoother.

I’d try and do a deal on a 201, but see if the 1.4 auto will be standard on new ones.

I’ve driven the Proceed 1.4 petrol and I’ve had the 1.0 in a Ceed and an XCeed. I’d get the 1.4 (I would steer clear of the 1.0). Noisy, underpowered and thirsty for what it is.

ProCeed looks pretty nice and in the GT-Line 1.4 ain’t a bad car and in Ireland it’s the only engine option in the car.

The ProCeed is definitely the best of the Ceed range. It looks great, comes in some really nice colours, is well equipped, is spacious in the front and back and has a huge boot. It is just a pity it is only offered here with only one engine but as said above it is a good engine.

I’d imagine the regular Ceed is bigger, otherwise it would be pointless having both on sale.

I have the Ceed SW in 1.0 for the last few months.

Managed to get a pre-reg 191 for just a tad over 23k for reference in the blue colour that is a few quid more.

Driving - Absolutely no issue with power even fully laden - First to second gear takes a bit of getting used to but it's by no means bad. It handles the rest of the range pretty well and very good at motorway speeds (the 6 speed box is helpful here). Plenty of go and the engine is raspy as previously stated (not a fan of this myself)

I'm getting 7l/100 with about 2000kms put on it. 70% of that is urban.

Spec - The 1.0 is only available in 1 trim K3 (or was when I was looking) but that is all you want really (minus a sunroof which I would have liked). It has some tech that it takes from some of the electric cars

    Lane Keep Assist
    Forward Collision avoidance
    Android Auto/ Carplay
    Wireless charging
    Reverse Camera
    Automatic High Beem Assist
    Half "leather"

Note on the Pro-Ceed - The space in the boot is not nearly as practical as the Ceed SW - The roofline on the proceed slopes and it really limits the usable space - We have a buggy where the frame and top sit comfortably side by side in the Ceed. The Pro-ceed failed that test.

The hatchback is not bigger than the ProCeed but the Estate no doubt is a little bigger and more practical however if you do not need that then the ProCeed is the one to have.

There seems to be a zero cost option of some tasty 17" alloys at the moment, that alone transforms the look of it imho.

Are these diamond cut alloys? Think I saw them during the weekend on a Pro Ceed

Yeah, they are very similar, but don't think they are exactly the same. They look very smart though.
