Have my 590 here, anyone one know what oils for the engine and gearbox? Can universal oil be used for the steering too? Have been using steering fluid but think i read somewhere that universal oils for steering too.
    Quantities for bonus points?
Reading through work shop manual but fond seem to find that info

Universal tractor oil for the back end. It is perfectly fine for the engine too, but a dedicated diesel engine oil will be better. Power steering fluid for the steering.....

Just be careful if the power steering is leaking oil into the engine. Use engine oil then, if that's the case.

    Thanks.
I don't think it is but when I read that somewhere before thought it would be worth doing. Would there be different feeling than with the steering fluid?

I don't know, but if you want to put oil into it, I'd go with universal oil rather than diesel engine oil. Either one will be much thicker than the steering fluid. I'm wondering if they'd put the pump under a lot of pressure.....

Engine or hydraulic oil in the powersteering, have the engine running and operate steering fully to remove air locks..
