    On The Ray D’Arcy Show…

    ….Rayna Connery writes:

Mindhunter actor Holt McCallany will join Ray to talk about the success of the series and his back catalogue of Hollywood hits..

As she nears retirement, much-loved Nationwide presenter Mary Kennedy will be in studio to look back on her 41-year-long illustrious broadcasting career…

Broadcaster, author and academic Emma Dabiri will speak to Ray about Dont Touch My Hair, her book about growing up in 1980s Ireland as a young black woman.

Legendary voiceover artist Redd Pepper will drop by to shoot the breeze about his journey from tube driver to movie trailer superstar.

And Ray will be joined by Michaela Boehm, intimacy coach to A-list stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Will Smith.

Emma Dabiri gets on my tits, she revels in being different because of her skin colour and then whinges about being treated differently. Sauce for the goose Ms Dabiri.

Nationwide dropping Mary Kennedy for Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh is a disaster

Blathnaid is staff so they have to pay her anyway and so they dump her on Nationwide

Mary is also staff and she is excellent at her job but she has hit retirement age so she gets the boot

Your Licence Fee at work there.

Muireann o Connell was brilliant on radio show and her ratings increased significantly. Yet she was dropped for a multi millionaires wife with a gang of children. Who is a lot older than muireann. Funny decisions all round.

Never heard of her till tonight. I'm guessing it's going to be another of these "All Irish are racists" pieces that RTE are so fond of doing these days.

She was on, i think, Tommy Tiernan's show or maybe Blindboy's podcast a while back which is the only time i've heard of her.

To be honest, i haven't heard of any of them apart from Mary Kennedy.

Ray just loves money. Of course the voice-over guy is making money from it, it's his job Ray!

Redd Pepper has had an interesting life, going from Tube Driver to Voice Over Artist

Go on Deep Voice Guy, say 'Spontaneous'.

Not sure I'd want to hear him speaking through his portable downpipe every lunch break but it is a cool voice to be fair!

I can't believe this is the guy who does the movie trailers. :pac:

He looks like a BadAss Villain, he should audition for some proper acting work

(I'm talking about Redd Pepper, not Ray Darcy)

Jerry Seinfeld's Trailer for his film 'Comedian' was very good, trying to stop the Voiceover guy doing his cliches

    Nationwide is great

You can stick it on any evening and feel like there isn't only bad in the World

Ann and Mary were a great duo

She’s very good on tv, I dare say we’d love to see her again for many a year ahead.

I was racking my brain trying to think of Ann Cassin's name. Nationwide a favourite of mine.

No that's a fact shes said it in interviews shes only retired because she has too, and is mad looking for more work.

Strangely, and fair enough shes had a lil make over, she looks much more attractive than she did 41 years ago. Oh also compared to when she hosted the Eurovision in the 90s.

    Edit: shes saying it again.

You say there were 13 steps Mary?

Is that enough of an excuse for me to post this song?

Why can she not be now a self employed contractor and retake the role?

They could have just played the interview from Joe Duffy on the radio. It is practically word for word.

Why did they not boo Blathnaid? Lax crew in studio tonight, she is painful.

The retirement age should be 40 cause I hate the thought of having to work for 43 more years

Mary looks absolutely fantastic and seems like a lovely lady - Nationwide is actually a very good show, a pity she has to leave.

Fair play to Mary for getting out there and letting it be known that she is still available for work

You have to hustle and knock on doors to stay in the public eye

Well done Mary- one of the best- and RTÉ are putting you out to pasture because there are numb-nuts running the organisation.

    You’re better than that!!!

Take care Mary, looking forward to seeing you on independent TV in the future. :)

BTionwide is one of the few feel-good shows which I love to wast have, and I’ve had endless inspiration from it to do things and visit places. One of them being handling a hovercraft, which I loved!

Don't think she can claim state pension until 66 and she will find it near impossible to get a job at 65.

Sorry . It was on Sean O.' Rourke radio show that Mary was on.
