Rude unsupervised kids

I'm here in an internet Café waiting on Mrs. Rock to finish work after which we'll get some grub :)

A woman who looks as though she spent a few weeks on Mercury walked in with a buggy and two boys who look like a contender for the Michelin Man. She barks at her kids to look after "Harmony", presumably the kid in the buggy.
The boys are like 9 or 10.

The mother asked for a certain tanning session and in she goes.

These boys are each perched on a computer using foul language and eating from a chipper bag. They shouted over at the girl manning the till for "help" with "printing this fucking form". The girl who appears to be Polish is mortified and seems to be afraid to say anything.

I feel sorry for the kids to a degree with a mother like that and I feel sorry for greater society with kids like that growing up. The kids look morbidly obese.

So this Internet cafe also had a tanning booth? Sounds like a real classy joint! What the hell were you doing there OP? Surely there was somewhere more civilised that you could have waited in for your missus.

Worked in hotels and bars years ago, nothing new here.
I often saw parents walking in with their precious offspring and as soon as they cross the threshold of the premises the assumption was the staff became responsible for supervising their children.

Why did the kids need a "****ing form"?

    What's the form for?

Why is there a tanning booth at an Internet Cafe?

Why is there even such a thing as an Internet Cafe these days?

Do you not own a phone?

    So many questions. Such intrigue.

    Lol yup, welcome to ireland

Where people who cannot read or write, have kids, multiple kids, named 'harmony' 'cameron' and 'harper'

See it everyday. Work in the public sector, and feel awfully sorry for all these young women who grew up in a background where its normal to pop out 3 kids by 21 and sponge off the gubberment for your whole life.

Ending up in a bnb because of trouble with hap, refusing to work and saying 'the gubberment are cxnts!!'

A while back my wife and I were in a hospital waiting room, and besides us there were 6 other couples, of which one couple had a kid which was uncontrolled and allowed roam around., throwing toys and tossing magazines.

I scanned the room looking for which couple allowed their child to act this way.
Of the 12 other adults sitting down not one person was speaking to another, in fact 11 of them were on mobile phones and the 12th person reading a newspaper. I said to my wife, how sad it is how people do not even communicate with their own partner let alone other people.., at which point a couple looked up from their phones. A couple of seconds later the child who was not being supervised fell of a coffee table he was climbing and started screaming and suddenly the parents put down their phone.

I said to my wife if the parents had been watching their child it would not happened, to which the mother replied "we have our own lives too".

Here is the kicker...The hospital waiting room we were all in waiting was in the fertility clinic, these people wanted more kids, when they could not even keep an eye on the one they had, who was in the very same room, and then made excuses for their negligence.

Don't get me started on little brats I have seen like the one I saw kick their mother in a supermarket.

Yes , there is a large percentage of this population now that are most definitely from the shallow end of the gene pool and as far as I'm concerned "it" is a fair enough description

In my experience these days the village is told to **** off and mind their own business. People are too afraid to try and educate kids socially for fear of every sort of accusation coming their way.

And to be fair, it's not just the shams who are raising their kids with an oblivious ignorance.

You seem to pass off those passive aggressive comments off as "said to my wife"..

Either say something direct or mind your own business.

    Or try whispering.

People raising children are at a serious disadvantage since the advent of smart phones. In my opinion (obviously). It simply cannot be denied that they are attention diverters. They are quite addictive, not to everyone of course but to many. The dopamine hit etc. I just got one a few months ago - it is so easy to chill and scroll instead of doing something else. I am really glad for me personally that I raised my family before smart phones. Maybe that is an admission to an addictive streak but shrugs, yes, I have an addictive streak, but I see that same addictive streak everywhere now. People constantly fumbling with phones. I purposely set aside hours during each day when I don't have a phone with me. Maybe people who have families to raise should drop their phones in a basket on the way in the door?
Also all the tablets and phones and screens being handed to babies and toddlers - this is pervasive also from what I observe. It is so stimulating, why would it not be addictive for those children from such a young age. Enthrallment literally.
There is no way a parent can give a child sufficient attention if they are scrolling on their phone or ever ready to snap or video the child as the child goes about their normal life. Children need you to talk with them and just be with them, to look at them, to be idle with them, to just loll about on the grass or sand or carpet or bed together doing nothing. Often. Almost all the time, in fact. That is being human.

There's also a percentage of this population that most definitely have superiority complexes, who believe that it's acceptable to publicly (yet anonymously) dehumanise someone they feel is in some way inferior. Superiority complexes are actually just masked feelings of inferiority, but you probably know this.

Try not to pass this on to your own kids, they won't thank you.

Was in a cafe in Donegal last summer and a similar crew came in with the fattest kid about 7yo I’d ever seen.

Mother gets chips and sausages, kid gets chips and a glass of milk.

When they were waiting the mother was feeding the kid the small patts of butter of the table, he ate four. Then proceeded to put two into his glass of milk.

My thinking was he was goi to run a marathon or something and needed the extra energy.

Its clearly obvious our efforts to educate people about nutrition has failed, we need to make dramatic changes urgently, our educational system should play a critical part in this

To be fair some of them do work but when they choose to become single mothers that's about it.

I don't hide the fact that I have a strong dislike for kids, so nothing drives me more mental than uncontrolled kids anywhere. Not everyone wants to hear the 'beautiful' screams of your child (a scream is a scream, whether it's due to happiness or sadness). Not everyone wants to interact with your inquisitive kid. I have to leave some places due to it, for fear of taking a swing at the little sh!ts*. Just baffles me that some people seem to think otherwise, or that everyone must like kids.

It's why I'm 100% behind the places that ban kids after a certain time, ie: pubs, restaurants, etc.

*Note, I wouldn't actually hit a child. Too many people think it's wrong.

Oh you'd have loads of money if you popped out 6 kids and didn't use the benefit for the benefit of the kids. Unless you want to legitimately discuss this, in which case you're in the wrong forum. Just go with the flow like everyone else!
