    Just off the support chat

    Chat went like this

    Agent
Also, as I have checked, your contract was ended on 16/10/2024.

So, I have a better option for you, you can move to our new market plan, Three SIM Freedom 5G €35 per month for 12-month contract.

All You Can Eat 5G Data. Unlimited calls and texts for ROI & EU roaming, Unlimited Three to Three calls, 47GB EU Roaming, 100 international mins/texts. I can give where you will get the same plan with the €10 discount per month. So instead of €35 you will be just paying €25 per month, you will be saving €120 per Year.

    Me
Not really, my bill has doubled since my contract was up & I can get €12.99/month from 48 mobile

    Agent
I would like to inform you that with other provider you might get plan with limited allowances. I have offered you the plan with unlimited allowances and with roaming allowances to use in other EU countries and others are paying 45 euros for the same allowances.

As you are our loyal customer only for you I can give where you will get the same plan with the €15 discount per month. so Instead of €35 you will be just paying €20 per month.

    Me
No thank you, with 48 mobile I can get Unlimited Data, 5,000 Texts & Minutes5G Data, 17GB EU Roaming (don't need any more than this) including UK, uses Three's network. It's prepay, so no contract to tie me in to 12 months

    Agent

No worries, please stay connected while I check the details. Thank you for your patience, I have checked and just only for you on your special note, I can offer you €20 discount for 12 months. So, the plan will really cost you €15/per month for 12 months. The other provider offer you the plan in 12.99 euros and now you can get the plan unlimited everything just for 15 euro per month.

    I took the €15

Nicely done but why not just switch to 48 for less https://refer.48.ie/peterd-2571 and get a free month as well?

I'm out of a two year contract with 3 next week. Can't wait. I've been paying €35 a month and it was just increased to €37. Would be delighted with €15. I'll give them a call Monday.

I seem to get better results when using the online chat.

I find the 3plus app handy and use it quiet a bit, so it suits.

I tried on the webchat, no luck. They stated the final offer was €20 ex-VAT.
Noted that I have already given 30 days notice, but doubt that makes any difference.

I have two months left in my contract. Do I've to wait until this is over to try negotiate a new deal?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,536 ✭✭✭G1032

Yes. At least I had to wait. They wouldn't entertain me at all when I called looking for a price on future contract when I had about 3 weeks left. Rang back the day my contract ended and got the €15 a month deal. This was back in August.

I just went onto live chat, got my bill from 30 to 15 quid for 12 months by referencing the 48.ie plan. No questions asked!

Contract out the 21st of next month, has anyone recently managed to get a €15 incl vat deal lately. I telephoned today and tried chat, they are pushing €25 per month with a 12 month discount of €5 so €20, eventually got them down to €15 plus vat totalling €18.45. Any better to be done?

I'm in same boat contract up around 18th so do we have to give a month's notice? I suppose I'd hang for another year at 15 plus vat...

Was told if I wish to move just port over my number no notice required.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,703 ✭✭✭apache

I have to wait until Friday to get out of my contract. If I was offered €20 a month I'd be happy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 918 ✭✭✭PeterDuggan

Why don't you guys just move to 48's €12.99 plan? Same coverage, just cheaper, and second month free...

Pm me to get the Three unlimited plan for €15 plus vat for 12months

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,013 ✭✭✭crayon80

Because 3plus gives better discounts and freebies. So far thisyear there's been Elverys, Milanos, 2 Circle K, Butlers, Peter Marks, Supermacs and an accessories voucher.

Does 48 give anything beyond the cheaper price, generally or through your referral code?

48 just gives the cheaper price but my referral code https://refer.48.ie/peterd-2571 gives a free month and a €10 voucher.

two others in the house on 48, I wouldn’t move to them patchy mobile data, chat not available sometimes when there’s an issue and roaming issues where they have no coverage at all.

Left 48 because of multiple roaming nightmares

Does that deal include a scheduled price increase? Think it’s 1st of April each year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Qprmeath

Just for clarification the €15 price doesn’t last the year.

As outlined in your agreement with Three, annual price changes will be applied to your monthly recurring charge. This is based on the annual consumer price index figure published by the CSO every January, plus 3%.

As a result, a 4.4% price increase will apply from April 2025 to April 2026. Please see your revised monthly recurring charge below.
