    Hi

I had a procedure done on the 13th of October that rendered me unable to work until possibly the turn of the year. I came out of hospital on the 22nd & applied for IB, via post, on the 24th.

I’m aware that there is no pay for the first 6 days.

There was a payment in my account yesterday dated for the 1/11 & another one today, 2/11, dated 4/11. Are these payments for previous weeks & I’ll be getting another payment this coming week? What day is it normally paid? (I haven’t been on any sort of welfare in a long time).

I haven’t had any correspondence updating me on the standing of my claim

Payment is normaly just one minute passed midnight on Wednesday mornings.
If it is a first payment or the beginning of an additional payment and that payment falls towards the end of a week, they date it for the following Monday- but the payment comes in at once.
They changed the system last year to real time payment- means you got now payments for all days due to you.
You will surely get some correspondence in the near future. I always noticed that payments are a bit chaotic for the first two times. It will settle down quickly afterwards. Give it a couple of days.
Your application came through and was accepted- that is the main thing.
Just do everything they are asking you- and you will be fine.

I'm on it a while and still can't make head nor tails of it. Best way to contact them is go into intreo and use the public phone. They have to answer and can't hang up.
