    Hi there

Looking to do back a few years to claim tax credits. Registered with ROS as had some rental income over the years. Anyone know how to do this under ROS?

    Thanks

When you say you were registered on ROS for rental income do you mean you were filing Forms 11 on ROS as opposed to filing Form 12 on MyAccount? Are you looking to amend some of those years? If so what additional credits would not have been claimed when you filed originally?

You can amend back returns on ROS but if they go back before 2015 and produce a refund you will not get it under the 4 year rule. In MyAccount you can only amend Forms 12 from 2015 on.

Thanks for coming back. Yes to all in your opening paragraph. The credits I would be claiming would be the gross premium paid my employer on health insurance for my children. I had only been claiming for my own premium (Max’d at 200) but not the 20% for kids. It’s not much but worth claiming.

    Thanks again,

    Thanks again,

When you go into ROS go to file return online F11 and you can select year from dropdown menu. It will present your return as originally populated. You can then select option to amend for reliefs not already claimed and go to the relevant section and amend it.

Keep in mind it's the medical insurance relief option you are looking for not the income continuance. Quite a few PAYE Taxpayers got caught out with dodgy information advising them to claim for that.

Correct, have heard quite a few stories about that in recent months.
