We’re due to move out of our rented property the 1st of December. The landlord has sold and unfortunately we have to leave before the new build we bought is ready. My question is: our rent goes from the 5th to 5th of each month. Would I be correct to deduct 4 days? I just don’t see why I should pay till the 5th if I can’t stay till then?

Realistically yes you should get some reduction. Have you spoken to the landlord

Yes, I would multiply your monthly rent x 12, divide by 365 and multiply x 4 and deduct this amount.
