Lads, anyone know if a joint herd number is in operation is this enough to avail of the 'farm partnership' tax credit (obviously assuming the accounts are done on a partenrship basis and the partnership is between a parent and qualified young farmer) or is there a further step to register something with the department?

    Thanks.

No you have to have a registered farm partnership to qualify for the tax relief. We were in a joint herd number here and it wasnt good enough. You have to register the partnership with the farm partnership office in Kildare st and complete the Teagasc paperwork, I think it's called "my farm" or something like that. We didn't go for it in the end.
