Looking for a bit of advice, my grandmothers 02 yaris is starting to get a lot of rust underneath it, the garage reckons its becoming unsafe.

Im on the search for a newer car, without breaking the bank, The car doesn't go beyond town and mass a few days a week. probably less than 10 miles a week.

    Looking for:
    Petrol,
    Cheap tax,
Similar or smaller than the yaris
    Low maintenance/ reliable

anything newer than the yaris is an upgrade, 2010 ish maybe?
Not sure on price, 5k maybe.

Maybe a bit vague, but ive no experience with any of the smaller cars like the corsa, micra or yaris.

Car passed the NCT last time, not sure when its due again. The garage was a Toyota garage, the car had a recall for a airbag sensor. She doesn't use them for any work or sales, and they didn't mention any of their cars for sale either. So it sounded genuine enough. I'll get a second opinion anyways.

I'd have a look at the likes of the Hyundai i10 or i20, Kia Picanto, etc.

Thanks. Do the i10 and i20 have the same chocolate clutch as my i40?

I’d find out when nct is. Put it through early if needs be. If replacing car , better getting an auto in my opinion

Have a look at a Daihatsu terios .
Brilliant for seating & getting in & out .
    Uses a 1.3 or 1.5 Yaris engine .
Automatic might be an advanatge if your Aunt feet getting stiff .
