Can't hear fuel pump at ignition on or when triggering from ISTA+.

No voltage at fuel pump. Put 12V across pump it spins up.

Where to now? Is there a controlling module, relay, fuse? Thanks.

You need to be careful here because the relay is usually driven by the ECU

Go for the relay next because you can check 2 things :

1 : Is power getting as far as the relay

2 : Is the relay working

    Allegedly its K96 here

Does ISTA give any fault codes on a vehicle scan?

I believe the crankshaft sensor gives issues in the E90s.

Codes that seem relevant are Throttle actuator and throttle potentiometer, also there was some fuel level sensor code. When I google these they don't suggest a reason not to start. Maybe.

It's going to the BMW Indy next week..... Unless someone comes up with "oh that's definitely the digareeedoo" :D
