Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

I suspect with the roundabouts, it's just that the existing ones are not nice for pedestrians and cyclists. The Irish roundabouts are only "hostile" purely because they're designed without sustainable transport in mind.
But there's plenty of really good roundabout designs in Netherlands that could be "copy and pasted". Sooner or later someone in Ireland is going to copy the Netherlands design successfully. There's no reason we should be avoiding them (and no reason to replace them here, as far as I can see).
