2FM Breakfast

2FM's breakfast slot is a disaster consistency-wise. Has anyone seen that Doireann's going to Rwanda for some type of charity trip? She's going over to look at how Bothar works, meet people over there affected from a genocide. Fair enough, people are allowed time off but now neither of the full-time presenters will be there when she goes now. She was brutal for taking loads of time off when she worked at Spin 1038 too.

The cover guy from Love Island can hardly hold the show by himself so you'd have to wonder who's going to be brought in now.

When is the other lad back ? Would they not put Chris and ciara in there to fill a gap for a bit if McDermott is coming back soon ?

id say its a plus that both Doireann and Eoghan are off....silence for the length of the show would be better than them

2fm is a disaster for this behaviour. Just like earlier this year - new schedule to start in a few months, current presenters then down tools and they roll in the interns. No consideration for listeners or building up an audience.

    Greg who won love island.

He never seems to be on Thursday and Friday!

id say it will be Chris and Ciara or maybe the lad Keith who did it before

Agreed!! Doireann is terrible and whoever told her she was "funny" needs to have a long hard look at themselves.

I heard Doireann say on the show once he only works Monday to Wednesday because he’s so busy. And yet he gets two grand a week for it?

Dempsey is best mates with Garrihy's father, I would guess that is how she got her start on Spin 1038

Here's a shocker for some of you: There are actually other radio stations and other breakfast shows. Get over yourselves...

Didn't she start off with AA Roadwatch, then move over as entertainment reporter with Spin 1038 before going into presenting? Seems like a reasonable bit of career progression.

Instagram. Build up a strong following (at least 100k followers) and you're bound to get noticed.

    This too shall pass.

Well there you are then. I look forward to the Chuck Noland breakfast show in the near future.

    This too shall pass.

Fock me that's cushy number. I knew he was in Fiji or somewhere but I thought it was an RTE junket. Isn't it great how RTE lets their "staff" off for these junkets/other work at the expense of their own product?

Hope the Aussies are woke enough for McDermott, better not be any sexual advances without prior written consent......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭flazio

    She has a podcast?

It's called the Laughs of your life, where she gets various guests (not all RTÉ heads it has to be said) to talk about various topics around laughter, (who makes you laugh, moment where if you didn’t laugh you'd cry, no laughing matter etc.) It's more about the guest then her so if the person is of interest, there's actually some interesting stories there.

    This too shall pass.

Heard an ad on iRadio looking for new DJ's with the tagline 'You don't need to win Love Island'

    I think that's a dig at 2FM.

Has any one seen the picture 2fm put up on social media of the love island lad in the office but in the background there seems to be an image of Gerry Ryan's face in the window of an office, but in a different version of the same photo its Larry Gogans face?
Not sure if it's a joke but its in appalling taste.
(The faces I mean, we all know 2fm is a joke already)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 908 ✭✭✭radiotrickster

Agree, it’s in appalling taste. They could have stuck a cartoon ghost in or just a presenter pulling a stupid face. Disgraceful to think the presenters and social team all probably thought it was hilarious. Would be interested to know what Lottie’s reaction was in the office because I’d say severe words were had with them. Love her or hate her, it’s still her father for Jesus’ sake like.

I think she put up the confused face emoji according to the article. Shed be well entitled to feel aggrieved with her colleagues in all fairness.

Maybe it's an indication of what they think of her and her father.

With doubt the worst 2fm breakfast show in living memory

    I'd take hector

When you hear presenters laughing at their own jokes, it's enough
