    Hi,

I have recently applied for social housing. I am due to have an interview next week with the council to discuss this.

I was born in England to Irish parents and we returned to Ireland when I was one years old. I am now in my thirties.

I have given them the form from revenue to say I don't own property here. They also want proof that I don't own property in England.

Is it the Irish Embassy in the UK that I need to contact? I'm not sure how to get this evidence.

    Thanks.

AFAIK it's bank accounts etc, affidavit of means, credit union loans etc they look for ,I lived in the 6 counties for 20 years and that's what I provided, plus kids birth certs and proof of previous addresses

You'll need to obtain a letter from the UK property registration office (or offices if you also lived in Scotland/NI) confirming that your name doesn't appear on the property register. There is a fee to be paid but I don't know how much it is.
