Would they not get a warranty for the building work for a number of years after it's completed?

Is there a 'Clerk of Works' anymore in this country?

    If not, why?

If so, what the f**k are they at?

It's like we got a Chinese construction company to build them.

From what I heard on the radio and social media this particular school had building work carried out several times throughout last year and the builders were there full time for 3 months over the summer ,

It would be interesting to see what exactly is the issue they aren't disclosing at the school

Yeah especially if the company has been given another public contract as indicated in the article

If that had been the case, there wouldn't have been any problems. And it would have been built in a day and a half.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Yeah...... No.

A large amount of what China has been building is absolutely crap standards. Some very good documentaries on it at the moment. Entries apartment blocks and road networks slowly falling apart because or rushed work and low standards.

There are clerk of works on a lot of public jobs.

The issue is these are design and build. So if the design is flawed and approved the clerk of works can supervise all he wants.

Could be built perfectly to incorrect drawings

    Designer is at fault.....

You have got to be kidding? In 2019 this state entrusts the regulation of building standards to the private for-profit companies which build them? And when they're built the limited liability company which built it is wound up and the beneficial owner of said company is not liable for mistakes which are subsequently found?

Self regulation is good for society, the wealth created trickles down or something something something.....

Maybe we should go back to the way schools used to be built, like in the 1880's. Get the Office of public works to built them to a standard set plan, but of course that would probably breach some red tape or what not or maybe its just laziness.

    🙈🙉🙊

Seems the school building scandal is still going strong ,

One particular School in tallaght has been in the headlines due to having to relocate to another school for several months despite being only 3 years old and already had months of work done on it ,

If school buildings are not safe should kids be in should schools be allowed to open while work needs to be done

They're bringing them to school on unsafe buses
May as well go the whole way
