In 7/8 years you'll be up to over 200k on that car, if you're looking to invest in a car for that long you'd be better ff looking for something with lower miles and petrol 7-8 years is a long time to be committing to diesel in this day and age.

You have a point, and I have been on the lookout for a petrol Honda Civic 1.8 but they are scarce, so Ive been looking for a decent spec diesel as an alternative

    How about this lovely car,

You might get 5 years out of it. I do not think much goes wrong with them.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

The Jettas are a safe bet, they are mostly slightly older tech so they benefit from being tried and tested.

That's a nice one in Highline spec with DSG.

No reason why it wouldn't do 15k miles a year for the next 10 years if it's kept serviced.
