Scam from fake Aer Lingus e--mails

    Just an FYI

I got an email supposedly from Aer Lingus this morning offering me a great deal on a voucher which, for €10, will allow me to book a flight anywhere in the world. Only available for the next 24 hours, the voucher can be redeemed at any time over the next year, it says. All part of the Silver Anniversary celebrations marking 80 years since Aer Lingus' first sale.

Alerted first by the fact that a silver anniversary is 25 years, not 80 and that by my memory Aer Lingus began flying in 1936, not 1939 and further warned by the strange URL to which the email encouraged people to link, I nevertheless contacted Aer Lingus on Facebook to appraise them of the message and was told, unsurprisingly, that this was nothing to do with them and I should not engage with it.

I didn't, but I just thought people should know.

Anyone else get such a "magic" offer today?
