Hi I have a 2006 Santa fe commercial jeep , I had to replace the rearview window yesterday and was wondering how to black it out so its unable to see the inside contents ?

Not looking to spend much as it's in rough shape . Was thinking of buying spray tint or a roll of limo tint and going at it myself and tips ?

Even a professional window tinter wouldn’t charge much for one window.

Few quotes have been from 80-120 for the one window which is a bit steep imo

You can chance it. You’ll need a heat gun, spray bottle, knife and squeegee
Biggest risk/probability is that you’ll get bubbles. If you can live with that then go for it!

Saw a fella today with one of those white sun blinds on the drivers side window.

Why not just use a rattle can of black paint or just a paint brush and some black paint? It's not going to be pretty but you are looking for cheap. Leave it in the car if any flakes off.

Windscreen and front windows have to allow 65% of light through. The rest you can do as you please, every van has metal panels where the rear windows are supposed to be.

Being able to see out is handy though

Loads of vehicles don't have rear windows and manage. A camera will solve the problem if you really want.

Man does want to spend €80 on getting the window tinted. Of course loads of vans have solid rear windows, but this jeep doesn’t.

So you are suggesting painting over the rear window to save money on tinting, but then shell out on a rear view camera

Full dip (peel-able vinyl spray) for a tenner.
