    Hi,

    I have a 08 Mondeo TDCI

When I start the car there is no white smoke.

When it warms up it starts

Yesterday there was loads and loads of white smoke and I used a Head Gasket sealant and this seems to have reduced the smoke.

I can see it draining the coolant very quickly but I can see it leaking anywhere on the ground It also runs very rough like a misfire?

    Any help would be great.

Sounds like a head gasket leak. There would be no coolant on the ground because its leaking internally into the cylinders hence the white smoke.

How quickly is the coolant draining? As in how many times do you need to top it up?

Have you taken it to a garage yet? They can diagnose for sure if its head gasket but it sounds likely that it is.

    Hi, Thanks for your reply.

Its using 1/2 of the expansion tank in around 5 mins, I cant drive it when it is get warm its gets all lumpy like its misfiring.

Someone is coming to look at it tomorrow so I hope they can tell me whats wrong.

Either it's elected a new pope, or it's trying to burn coolant. I think the latter, hence a failed head-gasket.

    Put this in

I had a mechanic look at it and he said the stuff I put in fixed it but I didn't leave it running long enough to allow all the white smoke to leave the engine.

No smoke and it seems to be running fine.
