I'm hoping to upgrade my car soon, finally in a position to start looking into it. I'm not sure what my credit rating is like, so I'm wary about asking the bank and getting refused (if it's not great, I don't want to make it worse!)

I've been planning on checking car dealerships for finance and what options I'd have, but I found carloans4u and it looks fairly okay, but I'm trying to see if there's any catch I'm missing.

Bad credit history not a problem, lower interest rates for better credit score which would work in my favour if it is OK... But I can't find any reviews about the irish company (the reviews I've found are old and seem to be about the UK.)

Does anyone have any info or had any dealings with them?

What APR is the loan with them?

Example on website says 8% but it depends on the credit score from what I can gather.

Stick with bangernomics and save up if your credit is poor. 8% is killer and if like friends with bad credit have done in the past and paid over 11% then you are just throwing away cash.

I don't mind having old car, just that I'm now driving ~100 miles a day for job and don't want to get stuck if car gives up.

I'll stay away from them so, honestly wasn't paying too much attention to the interest, - length of contract and monthly repayments is what I was concentrating on so I'd know if it was feasible

Why not just save up the cash and pay no interest? It's just silly to throw money away on interest.

Car > 15yrs old, just afraid it'll give up on me, and saving doesn't really work in my house. Was hoping to get a car that would last a number of years so just checking my options. I'd much prefer to buy a car outright but not feasible to save up that much.

why not try bank or credit union if you think your credit may be ok? sub prime should be avoided if you can

My advice would be to drive your current car until it conks out, the reason being even a 5 year old car could be a complete dud, which would then leave you with a costly loan to repay and no car to boot.

Good luck whatever you choose to do.

This outfit appears to be rehash of
    flexlease.ie
    relocar.ie
    carlease4u.ie
    and
    lmoperations.ie

My advice, stay away from these businesses, and go with finance from the dealer or a bank
