    Hi,

Is there anything behind it, seems extremely peculiar

"Autobiography" has been used by Range Rover to describe special edition vehicles.

OK, but any particular reason why?

I assume because an autobiography is unique.

LR Autobiography models were custom, special orders when they started doing them originally. Then it just became another trim level

Range Rover? Status symbol on 4 wheels for people who know nothing about cars....

Just my humble opinion....cause you really need 4-wheel drive in D4...

One of the biggest farms in the country has 2 Velars. Brand new few weeks ago

I was in a straw field the other day and one was flying up the headland with a diesel bowser.

So at least 2 velars gonna do a bit of work

+1 , used to be like the rolls royce ordering process, where theyd even dye the leather to match a favourite bag or pair of shoes etc... since 2002 its just the top level trim and technology package available.

the SV badge is 'special vehicles' who still do custom handbuilt work, getting the SV edition you get to pick a lot more colours and options.
