I looking for some advise about strange situation I am. Month and a half ago I have pretty bad accident at work. Big metal door fall from the wall and hit me in a head, neck and back. Door will probably crash me completely and kill me (800 kg of steel) but metal fence on other side stop the door metar from the ground and save me. I was taken to hospital where i was threatened. I had brain concussion, Whiplash Injury and lots others but it's not the point of the story.
10 days ago I find a solicitors to make a claim. Solicitor contact me after few days and send me a letter he received from my GP, where my GP declare he is not in position to do me a Medico-Legal report due to medical service demands in surgery.
My lawyer agreed that it is strange situation and advise me to find another doctor to do this Medico-Legal Report for me.
Every doctor I call or visit to ask about that, tell me that this reports they do only for they own patients, and advise me to come back to my GP.
I did and he repeated the same..." he is not in position to do me a Medico-Legal report due to medical service demands in surgery.."
I ask lawyer what can I do, he just answer me to send them name of a doctor who will do this report as soon is possible, without any comment or advise for my current situation.
Now I call every surgery in my town (7 or 8), 5 surgery in closist town and answer is always the same.
With all this pain I currently going thru, I really don't need this, is it something like Catch 22, so maybe I just should give up, or is there some solution?
    Thanks for any advice.

Your GP will need to refer you to a doctor that does them. There are some doctors who specialise in them in Dublin which they will likely know.

Nowhere will take you on as a new patient without referral for this.

From your description of injuries I presume you were treated by an orthopaedic surgeon and a neurosurgeon. You will need reports from these. You will also need a engineers report on the event itself.

You are also entitled to a copy of the accident report and of any departmental investigation of same

Every solicitor has doctor contacts that do this.

Are you trying to do the claim yourself? You seem to be fine travelling all across town 6 weeks after such a significant injury.

No, at the moment when I clear my head about claim, I hire solicitor to do a claim. But it look like he is only one without doctor contacts. I ask him few times, he told me he can't advise me about doctor,
I have no broken bones, I can walk at least to the street to enter the car and my daughter or wife drive me around, or I take a cab when I going to therapy. My movement is significantly reduced but still exist, pain and dizziness a my biggest problem.

    .

There was a recent case where a solicitor got a warning off a Judge for referring a client to a doctor. Ask your GP for a referral
