Quick NCT question

NCT tomorrow on my classic 80s Mercedes which I imported from the UK, it is on Irish plates, is taxed, insured and has a current NCT. Car is in excellent nick afaik, hope it will pass

One worry I have is that I don't have a display holder on the front windscreen for displaying current motor tax, insurance and NCT

Instead of buying a regular holder from the likes of Halfords, I thought it would be classier to ask a Mercedes-Benz dealer for one of theirs, but I just never got round to doing it

Does the NCT require the display of any of the above?

you're ok without. Just swan into a dealer in the car and chances are they'd be only too thrilled to provide a holder.Get some photos of course.

What I would do, I would make sure the large rubber pods are all in the jacking points. If not, I remember buying them in the M-B dealer for something like a 5 - 6 Euro per piece (that was years ago). The guys in NCT are usually careless when lifting cars...

Car failed on two front ball joint covers badly worn. Everything else was fine. Not bad for a car nearly 33 years old!

NCT man called it a lovely very clean car

Nice motor... That's good news on NCT at least you can get them done easy enough.

Absolutely mint....

Nice to see the black and silver plated love those...

Had a 1985 323i and I fitted them... Changed the look of the car right away....

Got rid was riddled with rust.

Looks very good in picture as well, and I'm not somebody who would be a fan of old German cars lines...actually, that "mature lady" is in better shape than many 5-6 years old cars you see around Dublin!!!


Each time I see a car from the 1980s, I can't help but think the dual colour with the black bumpers made the cars look much "lighter" and sportier than the "everything-one-colour" of today's motors (well, weight-wise they WERE quite a bit lighter).
