Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Fibre optic installation Headford?

    Ive noticed the Fibre Optic installation signs outside of Headford the last few days. Does anyone know if this is actually going into the town as well or is it just surrounding area?

    It's part of Gas Networks "data centre" fibre ring rollout. Not sure if it'll have a termination point in Headford though.

    See pg 7 of the below pdf. Goes north from Galway, via Headford, and seemingly Clonbur (judging by the map but could be Ballinrobe), Westport and Castlebar.

    It's this company Aurora Telecom which is part of Gas Networks.
