Hello, got a letter today saying I had been approved for disability allowance , I was wondering how I go about getting a travel pass ? Do I have to apply for it separately , the letter never said anything about it and I have lots of hospital appointment that it would be very handy to be able to use to get to.

    Thank you

    Have you got a PSC?

If so, then a new one will automatically issue to you with the travel pass printed on it - assuming that Bugsy Dixon hasn't fukked that up with all of her nonsense.

As long as you have a psc you will automatically get a replacement one with FT on it. If you haven’t got a psc then you’ll have to apply for a psc to your INTREO office.

Great I have one somewhere, do you know how around how long it usually takes to get the new card?

When did your letter say your DA is starting?

If you are worried contact the number on the card you have.

They are fairly quick at sorting it out.

I'm guessing they will give a companion pass as you may require assistance.

Have you looked at getting the disability badge for the car too if required. This is done through a different agency.

You have to make a paper application for a companion pass if you are under 70.
Your GP has to fill in a medical report and it’s very difficult to be approved

Yes but if they fit that it's something to consider.
    As I stated contact them.

you suggested that they will send him a companion pass as he might need assistance. They won’t. It has to be applied for. Here’s the application form.

On the companion pass and needing to apply for it?
Is it the same case for the spousal pass? Or is that given automatically if married?

I think my DA starts the 3rd of oct, or some date during the first week of October

    I don't drive so don't need a disability badge.

Thanks for the link for the companion pass, I say I would meet the requirements to get that.

If you have family or friends that drive you or pick up then you can apply for car badge if it were to help.
