I am looking at buying a new BMW and the local dealer just told me that a collection of a new car in Munich is not possible for an Irish car. Has anyone else managed to collect a car there and how can it be done for a Irish car?

I picked up a new UK registered 3 series from there quite a few years ago and its a great experience having a snack and then walking out to see your car spinning on a platform in BMW Welt plus being welcomed with a glass of bubbly and some attractive German women/men. A quick inspection followed by a fast spin on the autobahn to the mountains was an amazing trip.
