I know probably not many affected here given they pulled out of the Irish market years ago , but given that monarch also went to the wall a while ago , is this another nail in the coffin for the bricks and mortar travel agents?

It’s startling to see such an established and iconic brand go under.

I disagree: The Irish stores were closed for quite some time. Also, the business model was getting a bit old.

Not really startling in fairness. It was just a matter of time they went through a restructuring 5 years ago but had MASSIVE debts from previous acquisitions and the did not change their model at all (restructured but in effect kept doing the same thing as before).
Compared to what TUI done offloading all their specialist brands and focussing on the tour op model.
Jet2 are well placed to take over a chunk of the market in the UK.
