Help on changing my car

I am struggling to find what the right car can be for my situation.
I have a 2010 honda insight which has very good low consumption and low roadtax of 180 per year.
The family grew bigger and we need a bigger car. The likes of scenic is an ideal size but we could also consider smtg bit smaller.
It has to be automatic and has to have good consumption as we do around 20k per year 15k of them being the school runs

Im so confused with all the stories i read about the new taxation for older diesels that kind of puts me off.

I have seen and likes the scenic, the c4 picasso and the 3008. All automatics, diesels and spacious.

    Any other ideas? Advise?

The year could be 2014 but if needed could stress the budget for a 2015.

    Thanks in advance!

Any stories on diesel taxation are only guesses.
Buy the car that it’s your needs and remember that any government who suddenly penalises the majority of their voters won’t remain in power for long.
There is no indication that I know of that used diesel cars will suddenly be uneconomical to own because of extra taxation.

How many seats do you need. What’s the count of booster and child seats. What are the ages involved.

I need 5 actual seats like the scenic or the c4 have.
My current insight with the two car seats at the back make the middle one only usable for having their jackets and tissues. A human cannot fit there

Also have a dog that will need to sit somewhere. Either between the two kids or in the boot.

As for the extra tax I guess it will be eu directive. No?

Have a look at the Toyota Prius +
    It’s a 1.8 hybrid 7 seater. It’s not huge but has 7 individual seats.

Thanks for this. I saw it but the second row is as big/small as my insight

The seats slide so everyone doesn’t have to be in line, you also have the rearmost seats there if you need them.
