    Hi guys
Not much into tyres but we have an antares 100 in the yard with 380/70/r28 front tyres and 18.4 r34 rear tyres. Front ones are knackared. i dont have that much work for it so i was thinking of getting a second hand pair 50% or so. Only question is do i have to get the same 380/70/28 or can i put 380/85/28 on the front? I don't want a narrow front tyre 380 is wide enough for me or could i even possibly put 420 on the front? or does it affect the tractor with 18.4 on the back? im not really into rolling radius and all that etc.
    Thanks

You will have to get the same, or something of a similar rolling circumference. The 380/85/R28 that you mentioned will be a lot higher than your current tyres.....

Other tyres with similar rolling circumference to your current tyres are...13.6 R28.........340/85 R28.......440/65 R28....

Sound lad i want to keep the width on that tyre so 13.6 is too narrow any way. 440/65/28 seems like an animal to have on the front with 18.4 on the back. Thanks for the info. do the tyes have to match the back tyes also? As the guy i bough tractor off said the font were got new in 2011 but the back are on with the last 15 years and still have 30% grip or so. Could it be that 380/70/28 is incorrect to have on front? they wore out fast. they are BKT agrimax

You would need to do some research online to find out what wheels/tyres were fitted to that model of tractor when new. It is quite possible someone fitted the wrong tyre in the past, but a 380/70R28 would be a direct replacement for a 16.9 R28, which is very likely what was fitted along with the 18.4 rears. 16.9 R28 are now called 340/85R28. The 440/65R28 would need a wider rim than what you'd have. They could be put on your rims, but would probably wear uneven because of being squeezed onto the narrow rims....

28 inch fronts are very big to be paired with 34 inch rears, but I think Same fitted large fronts normally.
