Back to education allowance

Hi,

So i have recently returned to 3rd level education. I was made redundant at the end of last year after 10 years and was 9 months on JB and changed to Ja during the summer. When i found out i had been accepted to university i contacted my case worker about moving to BTEA. She sent me out the forms and told me who to return them too, this was around the end of july.

I sent them back at the start of August and heard nothing back, i was aware i needed a registration letter confirming me at the college but provided further info about that and when i will have it. I contacted the person who i returned the forms too,the deciding officer, who told me that it had been referred back to my case officer for recommendation and once i am recommended it will be sent back to be approved or not and was given a time frame of a week or so.

2 weeks went by and nothing came to me so i contacted the deciding officer again and he said it hadn't come back, he went through some stuff with me about my application and said he doesn't see why i wont be approved for it and to carry on with starting college etc and once i get the letter from college to send it in,as i questioned would i be in trouble if i was technically in college but collecting JA and he said no and in the mean time once they approve me i will hear from them. This was last friday

I am just wondering what are the wait times for this payment to be approved as this is my first time ever being on a state benifit and it was difficult setting up and i feel a bit stupid not knowing what to expect?
