    Hi,
Ok to piggy-back on this thread as I have failed the brake test 4 days ago.
Service brake Performance of 86% (<55% fail), imbalance of 5% front and 0% rear (>30% fail)
Parking brake Performance of 24% (<16% fail), imbalance of 24% (>50% fail)

All my numbers are within the limit (so surely the car is safe) but the inspector failed my nearside rear "Brake Wheel Unit" as it's "Defective/Sticking".

    Any insight is appreciated.

    It seems OK.
The brake test seem to pass looking at the numbers and surely a caliper replacement is advisory?

What car is it? Has it pads and discs or shoes and drums?

    Could be cable.

If the tester failed it because something is sticking, that was found when it was on the ramp after the brake test.

Because the brakes have to be looked at to resolve the issue, the brake test has to be repeated, even if there was nothing wrong as such with the earlier test, in exactly the same way, a split boot on a steering ball joint will mean that the tracking has to be checked at the repeat test, because work has been done on a part of the steering geometry.

It could be nothing more complex than getting a rear caliper removed and the slide pins being greased, without knowing the make and model it's not possible to be more specific, but the retest will have to be done after the work is complete.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁
