Apologies if this has been answered. I tried looking but couldn’t find it. I am a single mother of two with no maintenance and earn around €150 a week for a few hours work a week. Currently living mainly on savings which are running short. My question is, would I be entitled to one parent family payment if I am a homeowner? Is that taken into means testing? Also I was Considering renting out the house and moving back with my mother and paying her rent instead to maybe make a small bit on rent - would that affect a potential payment either? Thanks in advance

You can only get lone parent if your youngest child is under 7.
But yes you can work and earn €150 per week and get all of your lone parent which in your case would be €271.
If you were working at least 20 hours you could also get WFP which in your case would be a further 120.

If you let your house out then all of the rent you get for it would be held against you in the means test for lone parent.
