Best/quickest way to put on mass/weight/muscle mass?

Was fairly ripped but spent a month in hospital and dropped from 12st 7lbs down to 11st and lost all my muscle mass, particularly my biceps, triceps, chest and tummy

I was working out 5 days a week, eating ridiculously cleanly, 0 alcohol, looked and felt great and I want to get back to that.

As it is I’m like a twig

    Thanks guys

Go back to doing what you did, for a start, and see how it goes.

I was a stone OVERWEIGHT when I started

Role reversed this time so I’m doing it from the other end of the spectrum

I suppose it’s an excuse to eat more which is no bad thing

You said your diet was good and you trained hard. Once it wasn't stupidly hard then just get back into it and adjust how much you eat over time when you know the direction you're moving in.

Sometimes there’d be weeks where I’d do 7 straight days no rest day but it had the desired affect.

All my food intake was tracked to a tee in the My Fitness Pal app- 80% was chicken, eggs, fish, protein shakes

Should I get a tub of whey protein and include it in my smoothies?

    Thanks :)

If your diet was that clean and you’re able to track calories well, then go into a calorie surplus of around 500 calories. If your protein intake is low then yea sure, get whey protein

    Quickest way to gain mass?

Eat more than you currently eat.

I have been reading this forum on and off for ten or so years I’d say.

    Eat more get bigger.
Eat more and lift weights gain muscle and fat.
Eat less and healthy and lift weights keep most of your muscle and lose fat.

You can’t spot reduce fat in body parts with special exercises. Fat is stored on the body depending on body types. It’ll all come off eventually if you eat less. It’ll all go on eventually if you eat more.

    I hope I have helped.

    Thanks for your help guys.

I’m slowly re-building my appetite as a month of hospital food has caused it to reduce so I’m not as ravenous as before but baby steps and all that.

Ease into it then. Eat more starting with what you're comfortable with (doesn't have to be 500 calories), train properly and see how it goes. Maybe you will need up your intake, maybe not. But it's not a sprint so take your time.
