    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!!!!!

    Oh god.. .. .. I'm dying. Oh.

Anyway, the school's priest decided to remove the book after consulting exorcists. Actual quotes from said priest:

“These books present magic as both good and evil, which is not true, but in fact a clever deception.”

“The curses and spells used in the books are actual curses and spells; which when read by a human being risk conjuring evil spirits into the presence of the person reading the text.”

    .. .. ..

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh sweet jesus. Ok in all honesty, I feel bad for the kids. Whether you like the series or not, they're a great bunch of books for kids to get into, and possibly get a love of reading. It sure did for me as a kid.

Oh but seriously though, ffs we're supposed to be living in the 21st century for christ sake.. .. .. Look, I've no problem whatsoever with people believing in whatever god or gods they choose to. But come on, I'd expect this sh*t from The Dark Ages, or even just a few centuries ago, but now? Pfff.

Yeah yeah, The Journal's standard of journalism is questionable at best, but.. .. ..

I thought they banned it ages ago?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Oh who knows. But it's this whole notion of reading the books means evil spirits descending upon the kids reading them that craics me up!

Nope. Loads of bonkers evangelical groups and whatnot called for it to be banned/boycotted but there was never anything official.

What I love about this is that a) it's flippin' 20-odd years after the fact and b) this person actually thinks avada kedavra is a real spell. Ze mind, it boggles.

Yeah, that's rubbish! It's yoga and pilates that invite demons into the body. Obviously.

A member of my family, a 32 year old intelligent man who was raised in a normal home, believes mindfulness is anti Catholic and kicked up when his kids school introduced it for exam students. Some people believe silly things. All he's done is make the books more attractive

Man who believes fictitious book is real also believes other fictitious book is real.

In fairness that school do need to get rid of one thing, unfortunately they are listening to him instead.
Disclaimer I didn’t bother reading the article as life is too short. If he really believes this then he’s a lack wit if the article is an exaggeration then we all had our cheap laugh.

That spelling error in the thread title had better be an intentional attempt at irony.

    Are the kids reading it?

Yet another perfect illustration of how religion, religious orders and the church should have NO INVOLVEMENT in the education of children.

    Pure stupidity.
