Hypothetical question about removing the "automatic only" endorsement from licence

Imagine a person passed the automatic B test.

A few years later they pass manual C and D.

Would passing C and D manual be enough to convince the RSA to remove the automatic restriction on the persons licence? Or would they have to go to the expense of another car test with the 12 lessons?

    Just curious.

They won't issue a C or D learner permit for manual

The person would be restricted to automatic vehicles even on a different category

But I don't think you have to do 12 lessons again

I think you apply for learner permit with manual (B) then sit the test in B category

If a person passes the automatic B after having done 12 lessons they do not need to do another 12 lessons to do the manual B test, they just get the learner permit and crack on
