Porsche may have designed the cab, but most have suffered rust by now. Check for filler in the bottom corners.
    Gearchange can get very sloppy.
    Handbrake MUST be working.

My uncle has a 895; I like driving her. Gears are fine. Comfortable little two wheel drive. He has to change the stub axles now and then, as he gives in a good few bales out in fields. But if you can find a well cared one stored in a shed . There's nothing wrong with it, they are fairly cheap

When doing the green cert, on the mechanical side of things I remember the lad saying the first things to check was the hand brake in them

Good tractors with great low down torque.
Cooling systems need good quality coolant to prevent corrosion.

Gear change is a different experience to most tractors but that said you get used to it very quickly and it's grand in general.

Ratios don't quite suit for loader work but again its manageable if you are aware of this.

The backend needs good quality hydra-tran fluid which is pretty dear and the filters can block up if the wrong stuff or dirt gets in.

Cabs are very comfy but check for rust.

An 856xl would be worth considering they've the better heavy duty german back end and some have a rear lift assistor ram. Gear sticks are on the right on these Neuss built machines too.

Be worth taking a look in Britain for one too with the way the pound is heading.
