I buy my tyres online and get them fitted but the normal garage I get to do the job has increased their price now €48 for two tyres, (swap front to rear, fit new tyres and balance plus disposal charge).
Anyone know of a garage in the Cork city or large suburbs area.

    Thanks
    Denis

That's not a terrible price to be fair. I have paid 30 to 50 for fitting and balancing a pair (inc. disposal).

Do you really save? I shop around, and ALWAYS bargain ref tracking thrown in ,find it's not worth the hassle ( Christy o Donoghue does mine - find him reasonable- + he's a mechanic )

Right now I like the michelin crossclimate plus, I was not able to get these tyres less than €113 (€89 price online incl delivered + fitting €24) in local garages. But I'm open to any recommendations.

I have crossclimates for the wifes car, cheapest i could find was €180 a corner in cork, had them delivered for €125 and fitted for €15 by my mechanic with a total saving of €160

Pass on the mechanics name to the op then, and add in the tracking and balancing and what you saved online and the hassle of delivery etc it all ends up not a huge saving at all

    On tyres.ie crossclimates range from e77 -e219 a corner

Strange post possibly from a tyre seller.

My tyres were delivered to my door and i put them in the boot and brought them to my mechanic for a service and tyre change, no hassle at all. You dont need to track your car when you change your tyres and any installer who doesnt balance a tyre as part of the change isint up to the job.

I just showed you I saved €160 for 4 tyres that'll do for me nicely. Anyone with big wheels/tyres would be insane not to buy online especially with sterling the way it is.

Cheapest I could find in Cork was 20 a corner for fit and balance.

My alloys needed work so I dropped them into Leo Whelan. He quoted 60 a corner for repair and threw the new tyres on too.

Worth thinking about if your alloys are scuffed up.

Try yer man in Blarney with the Tria pumps. He was always reasonable. 10 or 15 quid a tyre. But that was a while ago. Who knows what have changed since, maybe new regulation mandates the old tyres all be sent to the Vatican to be blessed before they can be incinerated
