Thirsk 2:30 - Been following Diodorus for awhile now (unsuccessfully). It was beat handily enough last time by Maid In Manhattan who runs against it tomorrow and is up 4lbs from that run. Over similar distance and conditions, I can't see it why Maid In Manhattan is as large as 2/1 to repeat its success despite the modest penalty. Neither of the others at the top of the betting convince me either, so I have to go with the market favourite and would be surprised if it doesn't go off at a price even shorter than current price of 2/1.

Worst value of the day? The PJ Rothwell horse at even money in the 6:10 looks horrible value. Haven't picked one to beat it yet though.

I don't really get involved in maidens (there's a 10 year old in this race!).

White Desert. Charlie Appleby had him for Goldophin (A Teofilo, 2nd off 91 on his last start for him last year). Wouldn't have to be a superstar over jumps in this field. 9/1 with Boylesports

Not one normally for a Fav, but surely Lope y Fernandes, just dances in here. 2/1 even seems value.

Giving Captain Colby another go 340 in thirsk, had wind surgery at end of last season and has struggled this season to post a decent run but his mark reflects that, he would need to spark today 20. Over at the 720 curragh this is an easier race than the last he ran in reckon he still has a few lbs in hand after landing a monster punt two runs back 7/1. Doing a small ew double

2.10 Sandown, Seraphinite around, 2.54, layed big time. Same race Swinley around 4.0 layed that too.
Was tempted to back queenoftheclyed e.w @ around 8/1 but too small a race.

last few bets of the early racing.

2.40 Sandown, Indian Raj, around 3/1, even though a trappy race I think this should win. Backing to win

2.55 Bangor, Ruthless Article, around 1.98, laying this, my best bet of the whole day. I don't think it will win.

Mark's Choice in next at Thirsk a great EW bet with the 16 runners lining up, a lot of these struggle to win and think this can go very close at a decent price

I've noticed that anytime you fancy a short priced horse it nearly always wins. In fact i can't remember one that has lost. With your knowledge you should be banking it. You need to give up that longshot game. :)

Sonofgoat puts up lots of short priced winners and gets zero credit, not fair.

You could be right . When I used to keep stats i went 3 years with no looser under 4/1. It was only about 15 selections though.

Turned out again today and is being supported in the market.
