15 with 100 thousand

    Hey guys
    just wondering would you buy a 15 Octavia with 100 thousand miles on the clock ? its a 1.6 diesel most of the trips where long motor way ones and its got a good service history with the timing belt recently done,


    Would you consider 100 thousand miles to high for a 15 ?

    Would you consider 100 thousand miles to high for a 15 ?

    To me it's 'normal diesel miles'. I always use 25k miles per annum as a general guide.

    If the car has a full service history and is well maintained it wouldn't bother me.

    I wouldn’t buy a 1.6 but you shouldn’t have much issues with it due to mileage.

    You would be much better off with a 2.0 because as well as having more power, it has a 6 speed gearbox which the 1.6 doesn’t have. My 2.0 Octavia is more economical than the 1.6 Golf we have at work. (Averages by 52mpg mix of City and dual carriageway. Can get 65mpg if I take it really easy on the open road.)
    Tax is €190.
    The later 2015 ones will have the non dieselgate engine AFAIK.

    I'd have no problem going for a 2.0 litre one but they seem to be a bit harder to come by

    The UK is full of them. I was picky on spec and colour and wanted the estate but could have gotten any amount of them for reasonable money.

    I thought the Octavia switched to the EA288 engine with the Mk3 in 2013.

    So no dieselgate engine in Mk 3?????.

    I know the EA189 was used in other VAG cars after it stopped being used on Gold's/Octavias etc. Audi A4s and Superbs still had EA189s on 2015 cars for examplem

    Honestly man iv no idea what that even means
    |Is that a good or a bad thing for buying a 2015 Octavia

    You’re probably right tbh.
    A quick google says no ea189 engines on mk3 Octavia.
