house painting - window sills or walls first

    hi

    painting the exterior of my house.

    should i paint the walls or window sills/ surrounds first?

    Walls. I’d normally do the protruding reveals with a small 4” foam roller at the end of the job. Works a treat.

    yes but what about the sides of the reveals, as in the picture? if iv my walls done , would i not destroy the walls when im doin this little bit at the side of the window reveals???

    and would you not destroy the reveals when you do the wall second?

    Walls first, and take care doing the reveals, dont slap it on, only have small bits of paint on the brush, you can always give it an extra coat if you think it needs it.
    Hold the brush by the tin for more control, not the handle.

    walls first, the sills
    If you get a bit of the sill paint on the wall after its only a touch up

    If you do the sills first and generally they tend to be a darker colour than the wall, you will just end up with lots of paint splatter on the sills
